The sleeper hoop follows the shape of your lobe with zero friction points. Most of our customers tell us they completely forget they’re wearing them, even after a full night’s sleep.
Place your fingers on each side of the hoop and gently pull the two ends apart. Insert the tip into your piercing, then bring the two ends back together until they’re perfectly aligned. That’s it!

Yes. Our sleeper hoops are made with 14k gold filled, a thick layer of real gold that fully covers the base. That’s what touches your skin: real gold, not a surface coating. They’re nickel, lead and iron-free, making them suitable for the vast majority of sensitive or reactive skin types.
The base is brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, the same components found in 14k gold itself. Neither metal is a common skin allergen, unlike nickel which is the leading cause of jewelry-related skin reactions. And since the gold filled layer fully covers the base, brass never comes into direct contact with your skin under normal wear.
With minimal care and daily wear, 14k gold filled can last several years without losing its shine, unlike gold plating, which wears off within months. Longevity depends on your exposure to chemicals, sweat and salt water.
Can I wear them in the shower, pool or ocean? 14k gold filled holds up well against everyday water exposure: showers, handwashing, sweat. We do recommend limiting prolonged exposure to chlorinated (pool) and salt water (ocean) to preserve the gold layer’s shine over time.

Gold plated is a very thin layer of gold deposited on the surface, it chips and wears off within weeks or months, even with multiple layers. 14k gold filled contains a thick layer of gold representing 5% of the total weight of the piece, mechanically bonded to the base metal, it lasts for years. PVD steel is steel coated with a durable colored finish, with no real gold. Our sleeper hoops are 14k gold filled, you’re wearing real gold, not an illusion.
